Ladbrokes in the Community Charitable Trust ( LICCT ) continues to grow and has become a successful charitable body, brilliantly supported by Ladbrokes’ employees. Since 2003, the LICCT has raised almost £4 million, with last year raising a record £1 million. In 2006, LICCT chose five key charities for the focus of it’s £300,000 Christmas fundraising initiative (Help the Aged, Whizz Kidz, Help The Hospices, Riding For The Disabled and Dreams Come True) and to kick-start the activity Ladbrokes donated £25,000 to each of them. This year the charity has chosen to support and donate £25,000 to the Army Benevolent Fund, Guide Dogs for the Blind and the Samaritans. During 2007 there was focused support of several health awareness charities including the Bobby Moore Cancer Fund and £100,000 for CLIC Sargent’s ‘Yummy Mummy’ week. In addition to these national charities, employees are encouraged to support charities of their choice. During 2007, this included support for over 400 local community based charities and good causes. |
